Hi, I am David Wauters, the Online Store Coach, and I help online retailers like you increase profits, simplify your marketing and help give you more confidence to manage your online store, so your online store serves you and not the other way around.

With over twelve years of online retail experience, you can trust my expertise and specialized knowledge of ecommerce marketing.  In fact, I have made my entire living selling products and services online since 1999.

My goal is to share my knowledge with online retailers who already sell online, want to make more money, live a better life and are highly motivated to achieve more with their online store.

I have sold all types of products in every state - gift baskets, DVDs, leather bomber chairs, undies, costumes, giant fortune cookies, books, lamps and more.  In fact, this list goes on and on.

I have easily helped sell over 5,000 unique items online and I can tell you that there are many similarities and best practices to selling online that work for EVERY business.  I share these proven techniques with my customers of my products and within services for my clients.

CAREER HIGHLIGHTS:

It’s been an exciting career selling product online.  One of my favorite memories was when I was flown across the entire country by Google, all expenses paid to stay at Ritz-Carlton at Half Moon Bay outside of San Francisco - two interesting side notes:

1) This beautiful hotel was the location of the third American Pie 3: The Wedding movie.  (By the way, great apple pie at the hotel.  Just kidding!)

2) I managed to sneak in a round of golf while there, which I enjoyed.  Unfortunately, there were many poor shots on this magificent Pacific Coast backdrop.  And, perhaps the greatest tradegy of all, nobody saw me sink my 35 foot chip in on the 18th hole.  One good shot the entire day and nobody paid attention.  Heartbreaking!

Anyway, I was flown across the country to attend a HALF DAY event with Eric Schmidt, CEO of Google, as well as other top Google executives.  I was one of about 75 other online retailers who apparently spent enough (millions) on Google Adwords.  It was a great intimate event from a cool company.

I have spoken at the premiere internet retail conferences - Shop.org, eTail, Search Engine Strategies and more.

I have helped sell well over $100 million online for other companies.  My Internet marketing expertise has been cited in multiple leading publications including Direct Magazine, 1to1 Magazine and online at well-respected sites such as PayPal’s Business Resource Center and more.

I mastermind with several industry groups including many of the sharpest, in-the-trenches online retailers…names you would know, which I won’t dare name here.  These are very coveted, private groups where we share what really works.

MORE ABOUT DAVID:

I am a father, husband and big Bruce Springsteen fan - almost a requirement for life-long New Jerseyan.

Unfortunately, I was not always a good marketer.  At one point, I couldn’t sell cold water in the hot desert. Here are just some of my marketing failures:

  • Hastely believed that by just showing up, customers would come to my online store
  • Ran several unprofitable online businesses
  • Lazily missed opportunities to collect money owed to my business
  • Missed EASY marketing efforts in the sweet spot of various holidays like Mother’s Day and Halloween
  • Was not nearly focused enough on driving repeat business
  • Sloppily sent the same exact email message to the same people up to eight times in the same day - I didn’t even think that was possible
  • Spent $200k in banner advertising only to receive $80k back - OUCH

I will stop here, because I could fill a book with DUMB marketing ideas, flawed approaches, time-wasting efforts that interfered with REAL marketing.  Luckily, it has been a while since many of these occurred and I have gotten much more effective at marketing businesses online.

I have invested MUCH MONEY and TIME in understanding e-commerce and marketing best practices, learned from twelve years of experience selling products and services online.  Now, I am seeing incredible results with my knowledge.
